Another classic character comes to the big (and 3D) screen as "Tarzan" movie release date has been set, with cast and updated news, including spoilers are revealed online.

Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Tarzan of the Apes" was first published in a magazine in 1912, with the book coming two years after. The iconic adventurer who is lost in the forest and raised by apes has been translated into other medias as in radio, television, stage, video games, action figures and of course, films.

Among the popular film adaptation is Walt Disney Pictures' "Tarzan of the Apes" in 1999. Actors lent their voices to the characters, with Tarzan portrayed by Tony Goldwyn, and Minnie Driver as Jane Porter. Other actors include Glenn Close, Rosie O'Donnell, Brian Blessed, Lance Henriksen, Wayne Knight and Nigel Hawthorne.

News on the 3D reboot of "Tarzan" movie 2016 and release date reveals that development began in as early as 2003 when Warner Bros. commissioned John August to adapt a live-action version of the classic "Tarzan". Production team changed over time, ending with the confirmation of David Yates as director in 2012. Yates is known for directing the legendary "Harry Potter" series five to eight.

Upon the "Tarzan" movie 2016 release date, fans will watch the classic character portrayed by "True Blood" actor Alexander Skarsgård, with Margot Robbie as Jane Porter. Joining them are Christoph Waltz as Captain Rom, Samuel L. Jackson as George Washington Williams, and Djimon Hounsou as Chief Mbonga.

Alexander Skarsgård talks about director David Yates in an interview with Crave Online. He shares his excitement in the production of "Tarzan" movie, especially since working with the notable direction. He says, "He's arguably one of the greatest directors out there. He's a phenomenal, very intelligent guy and amazing director. It's a very, very good script. It's a really, really good script but it's also a very big movie, so it's not super easy to just get a project like that off the ground."

With filming confirmed a wrap early this month, "Tarzan" movie release date has been set for July 1, 2016 screening worldwide.
