Kobe Bryant and Lebron James are two of many players who will go down as among the best ever to play the game. They are regarded as the ones who carry the torch of their respective basketball generations. The Los Angeles star is believed to be one of the best in the NBA when Michael Jordan left in early 2000s while his Cleveland Cavaliers counterpart was already predicted as to become a star even before he was drafted in 2003. Many think that Kobe has already reached father time while a lot of fans assume King James still have many years left to dominate.

For Lebron, without taking away anything from Kobe Bryant's game, he's aware that some day, he will find himself wearing Kobe Bryant's shoes. Of course, he's not referring to the signature Black Mamba shoes because he has his own line. What he is talking about is that he knows he'll become one of the older players in the league and be subjected to criticisms for his declining play.

"I know my career will get to it at some time (where Bryant's career) is today, where Kevin Garnett is today, where a lot of the songs you listen to today a lot of the guys in the locker room have no idea what you're talking about. It's coming," James said.

These comments by four-time NBA MVP came after he revealed that he talked to Kobe before the start of training camp. He said that he welcomed Kobe back in the game after the latter suffered a season-ending Achilles injury last year. As for their rivalry that fans have created, Lebron James only said that he loves his 2008 Olympic teammate's competitive nature.

"I love Kobe, I love his competitive nature," James said prior to the Cleveland Cavaliers' preseason game against the Dallas Mavericks wherein they lost.

"I love competing against him and I talked to him before the season and just said how it's great to have him back. Like I said about (Kevin) Durant and a couple guys our league doesn't seem right with certain guys not in uniform."
