The Android and the iOS - these are the two leading operating systems in the world of smartphones and other mobile devices that constantly do their best to outsmart and outperform each other. The battle between these two will continue for as long as Google and Apple are in business. And with the new iPad and Surface Pro, consumers who are in the market for tablets will no doubt, be confused as to which is a better investment. So in the Apple iPad Air 2 vs Microsoft New Surface Pro 3, which one will come out as a winner?

As Gotta Be Mobile has reported, the Microsoft New Surface Pro 3 has a 12-inch 2160 by 1440 touch display screen. It has a RAM of 4 GB and a 128 GB SSD. As for weight, the new Android tablet, on its own, is at 1.76 pounds. If you add the keyboard though, which has a dimension of 11.5 inches by 7.93 inches by 0.36 inches, the total weight is 2.4 pounds. The device also features 802.11 ac, Miracast Display Support, and Bluetooth 4.0. The tablet, powered by a 4th gen Intel Core i5-4300U 1.9GHz with Intel HD Graphics 4400, has a life span of up to 9 hours.

According to Fuse Joplin, the new Apple iPad Air 2 has a body comprised of aluminum. There is also the 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD Retina Display that has a 1536 by 2048 resolution (264 ppi). This iOS device's dimension is at 240 mm by 169.5 mm by 7.5 mm. As for the weight, it depends on which version you will be getting. If it will be the 3G/LTE unit, you will get a 478 gram-weighing iPad. If you go with just the WiFi version, you will have a device weighing 469 grams. The new iPad Air is also powered by a dual core 1.3GHz Cyclone processor, a PowerVR G6430 GPU, and the company's very own A7 chipset.

With these specs in mind, you now have a much clearer picture of which tablet is a better investment. Of course, the final decision will rest on you. If you are a loyal Apple fan, then you can go ahead and stick with the new iPad Air. If you want an Android device though that can perform well on many aspects, you should know that Tech Radar has reported that the new Surface Pro 3 may just be a "jack of all trades, master of none" kind of device.
