Xiaomi Mi4 head to head with HTC Desire Eye - Features, Specifications and Price Comparison

Xiaomi's flagship phone Mi4 is about to land in India, the world's third largest smartphone market, within the next 2 months. But its competitors are not taking it sitting down. One smartphone manufacturer, HTC, has a product being pitted against Xiaomi's Mi4. Let's have a look at these 2 devices and see which one has the more advantage:

The HTC Desire Eye has a 5.2-inch LCD display and 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution, with a pixel density of 424 ppi. Meanwhile, Xiaomi Mi4 features a 5.0-inch Sharp/JDI OGS display having a pixel density of 441 ppi. Speaking of size, the thickness and weight of the latest HTC smartphone is 0.33-inch thick and weighs 154g, while the Xiaomi Mi4 is 0.35-inch thick and weighs 149 g. Interestingly, the Desire Eye may be thinner than the Mi4, but the Xiaomi device is lighter than the HTC handset.

Both devices are powered by the quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) Krait 400 processor. But the processor of Xiaomi is set at 2.5 GHz while the HTC smartphone at 2.3 GHz, The Mi4 has 3 GB of RAM, the Desire Eye only has 2 GB. Moreover, the Xiaomi smartphone runs on Android v4.4.3 KitKat with MIUI 6 UI on top of it, while the HTC handset runs on Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS along with HTC's Sense 6 UI. Moreover, the Xiaomi offers 16 GB and 64 GB memory, while the Desire Eye smartphone comes with 16 GB of storage. In addition, the HTC handset can expand storage up to 128 GB, while the Xiaomi device doesn't. Furthermore, Mi4 operates on Li-Ion 3080 mAh unit, while HTC Desire Eye runs on Li-Ion 2400 mAh battery unit.

Both the Xiaomi Mi4 and HTC Desire Eye smartphones feature the same 13 MP rear-facing camera unit with dual-LED flash. True to its tagline as the"selfie phone," the Desire Eye showcases an impressive 13 MP front-facing unit as well. It also has a frontal dual-LED flash to capture excellent images as one takes a selfie. HTC's selfie phone include "Split Capture" that can split the captured picture into 50:50 by combining the images shot from the front and the rear snappers. Meanwhile, Xiaomi Mi4 only has 8 MP unit as the secondary camera, though it's not that bad at all..

As for their price, HTC Desire Eye is priced at US$677 and will be an AT&T-exclusive device in the U.S. according to NWE. The Xiaomi Mi4, meanwhile, can be purchased for US$398 in Oppomart.
