Up Close WIth Most In Demand Product To Date Blackberry Passport and New Flagship Blackberry Q20 Classic

Along with the much-awaited release of the BlackBerry Q20 comes the question of whether it can sell better than the BlackBerry Passport, which is the most in-demand product to date of the Canadian phone manufacturer.

According to reports, BlackBerry Q20, also known as the BlackBerry Classic, is anticipated to be the top-seller device of the company since it is positioned to be a mid-range phone, as opposed to Passport which is pegged to target the high-end market. Based on the information given by the company on its specs and the leaked images, the Classic is retaining the physical keyboard, which could be an advantage (for those who miss typing on a QWERTY keypad) or a disadvantage (for those who are already used to a virtual keyboard) on their part. Moreover, the new flagship phone contains a touch-based trackpad above the keyboard for an easier, more accurate navigation when needed.

Another main feature of the Classic is having a bigger display and an up-to-date hardware. It reportedly now has a 3.5-inch touch screen, bigger than that of Q10. It also includes a much faster processor with 2G RAM, a 2,515-mAh battery, which can last all day, and a microSD card slot for bigger storage space. It has 1,440 x 1,440 pixels screen resolution and a 582 ppi pixel density. It gives a wide display of 60 characters, making the webpage viewing pleasurable and reading documents much easier. It can now support NFC and 4G LTE. It is rumored to be running Blackberry 10.3 OS, supposedly an unreleased OS.

On the other hand, the BlackBerry Passport features a 4.5 inches IPS LCD display with 1440x1440 pixels resolution, having a pixel density of 453 ppi. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, with a Quad-core 2.26 GHz Krait 400 CPU, along with Adreno 330 GPU, on a 3GB RAM. It has a 32GB memory which can be expanded up to 64GB VIA microSD. In addition, it has a 13 megapixel camera in the rear, and 2 megapixel camera in the front. Moreover, it has large batteries at 3450 mAh that last for 30 hours.

Since the Passport has exceeded the expectations of many, which is why it has been sold out twice at amazon.com, BlackBerry's CEO John Chen is confident that their new flagship will also be a hit and hopefully bring them back in the game. The BlackBerry Q20 is expected to be out in the market by November 2014 or early 2015.
