Matthew McConaughey proved to be a family man, after attending the 28th American Cinematheque Awards on Tuesday, October 21, with his mother, mother-in-law, wife and two children.
The 44-year old American actor was being honored at the star-studded event and went to the Beverly Hilton Hotel with the love, support and physical attendance of his family members. McConaughey had received the American Cinematheque Award for the work he has done in his career which started 21 years ago. McConaughey began in Hollywood with his breakout role in 1993 film Dazed and Confused.
The actor accepted his award, surrounded by his mother He brought his mother Kay McConaughey with and her date C.J. Carlig, his wife Camila Alves, his mother-in-law Fatima Alves, and two of his three children. His youngest kid, Livingston, is only 22 months old and is absent from the event. McConaughey's two older children, Levi who is 6 years old and Vida who is 4, were both dressed formally for the event.
McConaughey's son Levi wore a black tuxedo with a black bow tie, like his father. His daughter on the other hand wore a champagne-colored dress and a matching coat. McConuaghey's mother, 83, looked gorgeous in a sleeved, sequined gold dress.
In an interview with Us Weekly, the proud mother to McConaughey said, "I'm so happy I'm beaming! This year has been exciting for me to see him go through this knowing he's earned it - he's worked hard and people don't always get rewarded but he has. It's nice to see him getting rewarded for what he does so well."
The loving grandmother of McConaughey's three kids also said that her favorite movie of her son's is the 2011 drama The Lincoln Lawyer. She said that she "loved how he rode around in that Lincoln, solving problems, and it was just so cool."
McConaughey met Brazilian model and television performer Camila Ives in 2006, got engaged in 2011 and married on 2012 in Austin, Texas. The couple has three children: son Levi Alves McConaughey (born 2008), daughter Vida Alves McConaughey (born 2010), and youngest son Livingston Alves McConaughey (born 2012).
