“Breaking Bad” Costumes Hit Toys R Us Shelves, Enrages Florida Mom

Toys R Us is pulling out its four collectible dolls based on characters from hit AMC series "Breaking Bad" after an angry Florida mom launched a petition to bring down the toys from the store.

The dolls are based on "Breaking Bad" lead character Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher-turned-crystal meth dealer along with his partner in crime, Jesse Pinkman.

The dolls reportedly carry with them a detachable bag of metamphetamines and a detachable bag of cash.

Meanwhile, the Wayne-New Jersey-based toy company reportedly told Associated Press last Tuesday that they have removed the "Breaking Bad" toys immediately from its physical store shelves as well as its online stores.

The dolls were previously sold in a limited-supply in the adult-action figure area of the stores.

"Let's just say, the action figures have taken an indefinite sabbatical," Toys R Us stated.

The fact that metamphetamine-using characters are in a child toy store angered Fort Myers, Florida Mom Susan Schrivjer, who launched a petition on change.org last week pushing the Toys R Us to pull out and stop selling the dolls.

She wrote on the site with using the name Susan Myers, and stated that the dolls are a "dangerous deviation from their family friendly values."

"Toys R Us is well known around the world for their vast selection of toys for children of all ages. However their decision to sell a 'Breaking Bad' doll, complete with a detachable sack of cashand a bag of meth, alongside children's toys is a dangerous deviation from their family friendly values," she wrote.

"While the show may be compelling viewing for adults, its violent content and celebration of the drug trade make this collection unsuitable to be sold alongside Barbie dolls and Disney characters," Schrivjer added.

Looks like a lot of people agree on Schrivjer's point as her petition received 8,000 signatures.

Not everyone wanted the toys to be taken down. Daniel Pickett made a counter-petition stating that the retailer keep selling the toys, that these are meant for adult collectors shopping at their stores.

"It is not irresponsible to have these in the store. It is only irresponsible if they sell tehm to people they are not appropriate for," Pickett wrote.

Meanwhile, Bryan Cranston, the actor who played Walter White in the series, took to Twitter and replied, "I'm so mad. I am burning my Florida mom action figure in protest."
