CSI: Las Vegas Season 15: Episode 4 Mixes Witchcraft and Chemistry! When Will The Gig Harbor Killer Appear Again?

After stopping a possible viral outbreak in the third episode, DB Russell and the rest of his team had to deal with witchcraft, chemistry, and cancer in episode 4. Read on for the 'CSI: Las Vegas' season 15 recap.

The crime of the week looks at a burned chemistry teacher in a high school, who the team later found out was part of a secret society of wiccans.

The victim, Chemistry teacher Chet Messner, runs out of his classroom in flames in the middle of a student's video diary one school day. He doesn't make it and the CSIs discover that he, in fact, died due to cyanide poisoning.

They also find out that he got it from a test sheet laced with the deadly poison in his office. More secrets keep on coming as the team figures out that he's also attempting a 'Breaking Bad' - shooting up the school's athletes with steroids for some extra cash. One of the athletes is 'CSI: Las Vegas' season 15 guest star Bella Thorne, who plays a swim team member.

As the investigation progresses, the CSI team discovers who the members of the secret society are - the principal, the video diary student's mother, as well as the school janitor. They admitted to casting a banishing spell for Messner but only to make him leave and not to murder him.

They peg Rob the quarterback as the main suspect after discovering an email from Messner to the athlete threatening to expose his drug use if he doesn't pay cash next time. However, he also ends up dead. An emptied out vein on his arm suggested that the killer could be making a ritual, thus they turn to the witch coven for the suspect.

After more investigations, the team figures out the video taking boy, Mason, had cancer. His mother, Rebecca, was the one who killed Rob and accidentally poisoned Messner. Her target had been Rob all along, wanting to sacrifice him to complete a healing spell for her son.

Despite the Gig Harbor killer being a running arc for 'CSI: Las Vegas' season 15, he was not mentioned again in this episode. Finlay was also absent, presumably still on vacation-slash-voluntary investigation in Seattle.

It was previously reported, however, that the Gig Harbor killer / Winthorp twins storyline will be revisited again in 'CSI: Las Vegas' season 15 episode six.
