Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Show Now Cancelled, TLC Prioritizes Kids' Welfare Over Ratings And Profit: "I Wouldn't Endanger My Kids!" Cries Mama June

The all-new episode of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo will be canned at the moment. Show producer, The Learning Channel's (TLC) drastic decision came just after a TMZ report of Mama June, mother of Alana who is supposed to be the star of the show, was said to be dating Mark McDaniel, a convicted child molester who stayed in Georgia jail for 10 years .

Here Comes Honey Boo is a reality show following the lives of 9-year-old beauty pageant contestant Alana Thompson fondly called "Honey Boo Boo" and her family in rural McIntyre, Georgia.

While the shocking affair of Mama June with the child molester was pointed to be the cause for the cancellation, the TLC people did not claim it as such. Instead, they issued the following statement for the kids: "Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority.  TLC is faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well-being." This includes paying for tutors and counselors for the kids.

A more scandalous revelation that came out of the Mama June-rekindling-love affair-with-child molester was that the child molested was Ana, one of her daughters. This could have churned the sensibilities of the show producers and the public as well.

Comments have been flooding in online media that cancelling the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo show is TLC's way of redeeming itself and correcting the wrong. The 'wrong', included yielding to the crap of reality TV and choosing a dysfunctional family such as the Thompsons.

The Thompsons have been the subject of disdain in online media. Some more insensitive attacks were on the plus sizes of the family members, disgusting way of daily life such as laziness of the children, and questionable morals of the older family members. It's not too long ago that Mama June broke up with her partner, Sugar Bear.

Insiders of the network said the decision would hurt the network since the show has performed well in ratings and raking in dough. They believe the cancellation was just temporary to fizzle out the scandal as they look for ways to clean up the air for Here Comes Honey Boo Boo show.

Aware of all the mockery going on against her, Mama June said, "Ppl sell stories to the tabloid everyday that r false! It isnt true i promise my kids r #1 priority over anything else and I would never put them in danger period over this or anything else they r my life this is my past I left him 10 yrs ago for it and I wouldn't go back." She posted this statement in Honey Boo Boo's official Facebook page.

With his father's name dragged in the issue, Michael McDaniel, son of the Mark McDaniel, said the two did have a past but separated in 2004. The split came at the time Mark was convicted of the crime, which Michael believes his father was "wrongfully convicted" in his interview with E! News.

"His criminal record was [the result of] false accusation ... My father is a good man and a good father, he has always been good, he would never hurt anyone."
