Upcoming Microsoft Lumia Phones 2014: Microsoft Now Dropping Off Nokia Branding; Microsoft Lumia Phone Will Be Launched Soon

Microsoft officially announced that it will no longer use the Nokia branding, and as per Zdnet " following its acquisition of the Finnish company's handset business this April." As speculated all upcoming phones this 2014 will be called Microsft Lumia.

Rumors also suggest that Microsoft is now on the works of an upcoming Microsoft Lumia that is expected to be launched before the year ends.

The change was first tipped by Nokia France on their Facebook page on Tuesday when they wrote: 'We are on the verge of becoming Microsoft Lumia!'

This rumor was supported by Microsoft's senior vice president of marketing for phones Tuula Rytilä said in interview the company will be "unveiling a Microsoft Lumia device soon."

During its announcement on Friday, Microsoft went out of its way to assure current users that the company will continue to support older Nokia- branded Lumia devices.

The change was first confirmed by Nokia France on their Facebook page on Tuesday when they wrote: 'We are on the verge of becoming Microsoft Lumia!'

 'This is a very exciting time for us and for Lumia products,' she said.

'You might have seen that in the last couple of months, we have already made some name changes to our apps to better reflect that these apps now come from Microsoft. 'Our global and local websites are going through a transition as we speak and in the coming days our social channels will get a new name too - they will be called Microsoft Lumia."

As part of Microsoft abandonement of the Nokia branding. The company is now on the works changing names and support for Nokia Lumia. ' The process has already begun for some apps (such as Nokia Camera, now called Lumia Camera), and will now take effect for its Nokia Lumia social accounts including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, which will renamed to Microsoft Lumia.' as noted from Zdnet.

'We would like to invite our Lumia fans to continue to follow us and always be up to speed with the latest device news on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.'

  'This is of course a natural progression as all devices that once came from Nokia now come from Microsoft', she added.
