Woody’s Bar-BQ Treats Veterans With Free Barbecue on Veterans Day

Nov 04, 2014 09:13 AM EST | By Staff Reporter

Woody's Bar-BQ, leading restaurant chain that offers authentic Southern Barbecue says thanks to hundreds of military men and women that have served and continually serve the United States of America by giving away a gift certificate for a Free Barbecue Entrée worth $7.99 or less.

"As a former Marine, I have great respect for our American service veterans," explains Woody's Bar-B-Q co-founder, Woody Mills.

"Woody's Bar-B-Q is always trying to find a way to say thank you for their huge sacrifice in keeping America safe and free. When we think in terms of the things they give up on a daily basis - like their personal safety, time with family and friends, the comfort of their own bed, and the joys of a great all-American meal - my partner, Yolanda and I wanted to foot the bill for at least ONE of those things our servicemen and women may have missed while serving abroad or right here at home," Mills continued.

"Nothing says 'home' quite like a meal shared around a table with friends and family, and - at least in my humble opinion - nothing says 'America' quite like good old fashioned Southern Barbecue," Mills added.

Veterans who present a proof of service may claim the gift certificate at all Woody's Bar-B-Q locations across the country.

Woody's Bar-B-Q menu includes one of its most popular entrees feature slow-smoked meats like Texas Beef Brisket, Grilled Prime Rib, Woody's Signature Baby Back Ribs, Carolina Pulled Pork, among the few- all topped with comfort food sides inspired by classic recipes from the kitchen of Mills' mother.

Woody's Bar-B-Q was established back in 1980 in Jacksonville, Florida and now blossomed to 25 franchise locations in Florida, Utah, Ohio, and Pennsylvania - with future restaurants planned for Georgia, Tennessee, Colorado and Michigan. And plans to open up its newest location in Cocoa, Fl. after Veteran's Day.
