Microsoft Announces Lumia Upgrade For Windows Phone 8 And 8.1

Microsoft announced good news for Lumia users when they revealed that Windows 8 and 8.1 will get the Lumia upgrade.

The announcement came on the Lumia Twitter account. Microsoft purchased Nokia, trying to revamp the phone, giving it a new name as the Lumia. Microsoft can introduce Windows 10 operating system in the mid of next year.

Technology analysts are saying, this is a certain good news for users of Lumia handset which is operated by windows 8 or its updated OS. The smartphones which has come to the market after September 2012, all have built-in this OS. So, all this devices has a chance to get free windows 10. That means, entry-level smartphones like Lumia 520, would also support Windows 10. Though it has not been confirmed in Lumia Twitter account by which time would Windows 10 will released.

Microsoft has announced Windows 10 operating system In September of this year.

This software of Microsoft will support mobiles, tablets, desktops, laptops, hybrid devices, even in Xboxes also.

But there also experts are a bit confused about why Microsoft mentioned only Lumia device's name? Does that mean the non-Microsoft Windows devices won't get the update? Microsoft is yet to clear the air on this.

Microsoft also informed that in future they are planning to bring Windows 10-based smartphones in the market.

Microsoft's current operating system in the market is windows 8 and its update 8.1. Technology analysts were expecting the upcoming operating system of Microsoft would be Windows 9. But stunning everyone, in last September 30, Microsoft announced their next version of operating system would be Windows 10.
