Sexiest Woman Alive 2014: People Magazine Names Kate Upton Sexiest Woman Alive For 2014

Dec 20, 2014 09:09 PM EST | By Staff Reporter

Supermodel Kate Upton was crowned People magazine's Sexiest Woman Alive for 2014.

The announcement was made at the inaugural People Magazine Awards, which were held in Beverly Hills, California, Dec. 18. People recently named actor Chris Hemsworth the Sexiest Man Alive.

Upton, who was the first women to receive the title, was thrilled with her award. "This is such an honor to me because sexy to me means someone who's confident and happy, and that's the person I always strive to be," said Kate.

Upton, a former Victoria's Secret model, made the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue two years in a row (2013 and 2014).

Kate maintains her sizzling bikini body with a low-carb, sugar-free diet and rigorous body-sculpting workouts, Celebrity Health reported.

Upton's trainer, David Kirsch, whipped her into top shape for her two Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover shoots. Kirsch combined cardio workouts with ab exercises and strength-training to keep the blonde beauty in bombshell shape.

"The idea was to step up the intensity and duration of the workouts, making it a strict cardio and sculpting boot camp that entailed body weights and resistance bands, sprinting and calisthenics, shadow and kick-boxing," said David, author of The Ultimate New York Body Plan.

Upton also followed a strict low-carb, sugar-free diet that featured lots of salads and vegetables and no processed foods. "She followed my ABC's: no Alcohol, Bread, or processed Carbs, and also no sugar," said Kirsch. "She ate clean, lean protein, lots of salads and greens, and avoided everything processed."

Low-carb diets such as the ketogenic, Paleo and Atkins diets fuel rapid weight loss by forcing the body to burn fat for fuel, said obesity expert Dr. Eric Westman, author of Keto Clarity.
