Google is going to stop the production of popular smartphone Nexus 5. Nexus 5 will be no more available from the first quarter of next year. According to TechRadar, Google's representative said that this product of 2013 will not be produced any more by Google.

TechRadar quoted this Google spokesman who told TechRadar that Google has stopped production on the Nexus 5, saying that "once they are gone, they're gone, so we'd suggest people get them while they can."

Though, Google also informed TechRadar soon thereafter that the Nexus 5 will remain available on the Google Play Store and via "select retailers" through Q1 2015.

The report also adds that the white and red flavors are no longer available on the Play Store. Though the classic black Nexus 5 can still be purchased.

Google also confirmed The Verge via email that Nexus 5 is not going out of market till the Q1 of 2015.

This popular smartphone of Google has 4.95 inch Full HD IPS display, 2.26 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 procesor, 2 GB RAM, Adreno 330 graphics, 8 megapixel rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front camera. This has 2300 a 2,300mAh battery to keep the device running for up to 17 hours on talk time or 7 hours on LTE. Nexus 5 also supports wireless charging and comes in 16GB and 32GB options.

It is very surprising that the Nexus 5 phone is still popular. Even with Motorola's Nexus 6 out in full force in the market. Forbes.com reports that Apple and Google are working to keep 3.5 - 5 inch screen phones a thing of the past and making a push for phablets. So, it won't be surprising if Google start more branding for Nexus 6 to boost up the sell. As Nexus 6 is their latest phablet-sized smartphone.
