Fans who are rooting for Lionel Messi's transfer to Chelsea might not like what their current coach Jose Mourinho just said. For other English Premier League clubs, it is a good news. In an interview with BT Sport, the Portuguese tactician quashed rumours that they will sign the Barcelona superstar. His reason, it is because the cannot afford him due to Financial Fair Play.

"No I have no chance of that," Mourinho told BT Sport when asked about possible Lionel Messi transfer to Chelsea.

"Because at this moment there is financial fair play and with the financial fair play we have to follow certain rules, certain numbers and we obviously have no conditions to buy, as you say a 'super amazing player' paid with 'super amazing numbers' that Chelsea at this moment we cannot do."

According to reports, Lionel Messi's transfer to the Blues will cost them at least $200 million and that it is now underway. Mourinho said these talks are obviously not true.

"My reaction is that your world changed so much that our world also changed so much. And I think, in this moment, it's so easy, so easy to have non-truths circulating.

"It's so easy that some people put news (about Lionel Messi transfer to Chelsea) without confirming or speaks about rumours. Obviously it's not true. Obviously it's not true."

Discussions about Lionel Messi transfer to Chelsea intensified over the past weeks after a UK newspaper reported that the EPL club is already lining up a bid for the Barcelona star with the help of Adidas, Lionel Messi's official outfitter.

Express UK wrote:

"Barcelona have placed a near £200 million price tag on their most prized asset, but according to sources close to the player, sports giant adidas, who are Chelsea's club sponsors, would be ready to help broker the deal in order to steal the striker from rivals Nike."

How true is this Lionel Messi transfer to Chelsea? Express said "Messi is apparently already studying English, and believes his son Thiago would receive a better education in London."
