But One Direction star Zayn Malik seems ready to let go of his longer hair as he unveiled his latest hair cut on Twitter.
The 22-year-old singer still boasted a long quiff but revealed his shaven sides as he fixed his gaze on the camera.
Wearing a red eye patterned jumper, the singer simply captioned the picture saying: 'Here Ya go'.
Zayn's new do comes after the star celebrated his 22nd birthday on January 12.
And to celebrate his milestone, fans raised more than £7,280 for the British Asian Trust, an organisation which helps communities.
The pop star took to Twitter.com to thank his fans for their generosity, posting a screenshot of the fundraising goal, and wrote the caption, "This is amazing thank you to Everyone involved!!"
He also opted to quote his bandmate Harry Styles' ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift when he tweeted: 'Feeling 22 ooo hoo! Ha thanks for the love x.'
Music wasn't too far away from his mind as Zayn went on to share pictures of himself and British music producer Naughty Boy working together in the studio that same week.
The pair were first seen working together in 2014 before Zayn shared a snap on Janury 10 captioned: 'Studiovibes'.
He went on to share another image on January 13 saying: 'Zaughty fam still going strong'.
The pair haven't revealed details on when fans can hear their collaboration but it is thought Zayn might feature on a song on Naughty Boy's next project.
