HTC Desire 826 Vs HTC One M8: Should You Downgrade To A Mid-range Phone Or Not? Design, Specs And Features Compared

HTC One M8 was the Taiwan based phone manufacturer's flagship of 2014, but still it is a good choice over other flagships available in the market today.

Recently, HTC has unveiled a new mid-range phone, the HTC Desire 826, that is said to be better than the high-end One M8.

The HTC One M8 was one of the first Android flagship to carry a metal unibody design close to legendary iPhone, and has the dimensions of 5.76 x 2.78 x 0.37 inches and weighs 5.64 ounces and comes in three different colors gunmetal, gold and artic silver looks sophisticated. It also boasts 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution and full HD display.

On the other hand, HTC Desire 826 is packed in a dual tone color plastic shell.  It sports a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080p resolution. It has the thickness 7.5mm and weighs 155 grams. The mid-range phone comes in two-tone color variants including White Birch, Blue Lagoon, and Purple Fire

In terms of performance, the HTC One M8 has an inferior processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU and clock speed of 2.3GHzand supported by a 2GB of RAM.

The HTC Desire 826 is powered by a Snapdragon 615, and Qualcomm's 64-bit octa-core processor which uses eight ARM Cortex A53 cores, four of which are clocked at 1.0GHz and four at core 1.7GHz. The powerful processor is coupled by an Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

Both phones offer a 16GB built-in storage variant and another 32GB variant on the HTC One M8, and their external memories are expandable up to 128GB.

HTC Desire 826 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop, while the HTC One M8 Android 5.0 Lollipop update has rolled in some various countries.

The HTC One M8 camera has a 4- megapixel rear-facing camera classified as ultra-pixel camera with 1/3'' sensor size and2µm pixel size and 5MP on the front. Its rear camera features automatic simultaneous video and image recording, geo-tagging, face/smile detection, HDR, and panorama.

Both  cameras can record 1080p videos at 60fps on its rear and 30fps front.

In comparison, the HTC Desire 826 sports a 13-megapixel (f/2.2) rear camera with 28mm lens, BSI sensor, and LED flash. While its front camera features a 4-UltraPixel snapper. HTC One

The HTC One M8 costs around $485on Amazon, while the HTC Desire 826 price is still unannounced.
