Gearbox Software, the company responsible for releasing video games like the "Half Life" series, "Borderlands" and "Brothers In Arms", is gearing up to release a remastered version of the well beloved classic PC game, "Homeworld," reports say.
The game will be release on February 25 and will feature the HD version of the real-time strategy game set in an outer space setting.
The new version of "Homeworld" will be a mash-up of two previously released games. It features a remodeled HD graphics along with reworked cutscenes.
Gearbox will also release a multiplayer mode for maximum online experience, albeit it will only be a Beta version, the company promised that it will soon release a dedicated multiplayer mode in the future.
The beta version of the multiplayer mode will serve as a trial-and-error phase in order to create a more balance game for all.
A message posted on the new "Homeworld Remastered" website said, "Crafted with the assistance and guidance of the original creators as well as the help of a passionate fan community, Homeworld Remastered Collection introduces Relic's acclaimed space strategy games Homeworld and Homeworld 2 to modern players and operating system using modern advances in graphics rendering technology."
For die-hard fans of the game, Blackbird Interactive will be working along with Gearbox in order to develop and create a new game based on the "Homeworld" series, according to Engadget report.
The game is said to be already in early development stage and will serve as a prequel to the video game series, the game will be released as "Homeworld Shipbreakers."
Gearbox and Blackbird did not comment about the rumored project but inside information confirms that a new game is already on its way.
The "Homeworld Remastered Collection" will be available for $35. For Steam users, the game is currently available for pre-order and offers a 15 percent discount reducing the price to only $30, according to PCMag.
