Carl's Jr. and Hardee's have introduced a new Memphis BBQ burger, which includes saucy pulled pork with a classic charbroiled beef patty, according to a company press release.

The burger will feature a charbroiled patty topped with cheese, Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and crispy onion strings. Burger Business writes that the dish will clock in at an astounding 1,000 calories. All Carl's Jr. restaurants will start carrying the menu item Wednesday.

"Given our success over the years combining famous American sandwiches with charbroiled burgers, we wanted to try to marry the great taste of pulled pork with a cheeseburger and the result was delicious," said Brad Haley, chief marketing officer for Carl's Jr. and Hardee's, in a statement.

The Memphis BBQ Burger starts at $3.79 and can be ordered as a combo meal with fries and a drink. Prices will vary by location.

Carl's Jr. isn't the only outfit that's exploring BBQ. Burger King introduced its own Memphis BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich in June, and Sonic Drive-In will soon introduce a line of FlatMelt flatbread sandwiches with hickory BBQ sauce. McDonald's cult hit, the McRib, also showcases BBQ flavors.

Carpinteria, Calif.-based CKE Restaurants has 3,263 franchised or company-operated restaurants in 42 states and 25 countries, including 1,932 Hardee's and 1,322 Carl's Jr. restaurants.

Carl's Jr. is well known for its ads which feature sexy female celebrities eating their burgers, will do another one for the Memphis BBQ burger. Previous celebrities have included Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Padma Lakshmi and Kate Upton.  A new ad spot titled "BBQ's Best Pair" will feature models Sara Underwood and Emily Ratajkowski hasn't dropped yet, but we're guessing it's going to be racy based on the below still.
