‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Lena Headey Fell Into Depression After Divorce? Actress Amazed At ‘People Who Never Get Anxious’

She may be doing quite well right now but "Game Of Thrones" star Lena Headey admitted that she had to deal with depression back when she was finalizing her divorce with ex-husband Peter Loughran in 2013.

"I think some people's brains are just wired that way if you're a thinker," the pregnant 41-year-old told More Magazine in an interview about her bout of depression.

"It's tough. There's a lot of hurt and sadness and disappointment," she said about the divorce that came after six years of marriage. "Grief. Massive grief. It's a mourning process, and yet nobody's died."

She couldn't wallow in her grief either because she had to take care of her toddler son with Loughran, Wylie. She also had to portray her strong, even cruel portrayal of Cersei Lannister in the successful HBO series.

Although she has already overcome that dark part of her life, "Game Of Thrones" star Lena Headey admitted that "people who never get anxious" amazes her.

"The world could be breaking up and they're saying, 'Everything's fine!'" she shared. " Getting older and having kids, you learn how to become less serious about it all."

She's doing very well right now, with another child on the way (whose paternity she didn't want to share) and the fifth season of "Game Of Thrones" about to start this April.

"I haven't had a spell in a long time," the expectant mother noted about being depressed.

What keeps her calm though?

The "300" star revealed that getting a tattoo helps her find "real calm, a real peace."

"It's something you can't run from. You have to sit and find a way through [the discomfort]," she explained, admitted that she always wants more. "I'll be outside a tattoo shop and hear the needle and think, I could just get a little one that nobody would see."

"Game Of Thrones" star Lena Headey will be joining her co-stars in the highly successful show when it comes back on Sunday, April 12 at 9 PM.
