‘Whiplash’ Star Miles Teller Is Still Neck-Deep In Student Loans? Find Out Why He Hasn’t Paid His Dues Yet!

"Whiplash" star Miles Teller is on his way to becoming a Hollywood A-lister.

He's making money, starring in Oscar-nominated films and rubbing elbows with the likes of J.K. Simmons and Zac Efron. He's every bit a successful actor already, but why does he still owe about $100,000 in student loans?

The "Divergent" star graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2009 but he has yet to finish paying off his student debt.

"My business manager says the interest is so low, there's no sense in paying them off," he reportedly told Vulture in an interview. "I can, if I want to have that badge of accomplishment, but until then I still very much have my NYU loans."

Despite earning a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from the prestigious school, "Whiplash" star Miles Teller admitted that he couldn't remember anything that he learned from college.

"I couldn't tell you a single thing I learned in college. You're into it at the time and then when you leave, you kind of forget it," he said.

Nevertheless, Teller's net worth is reportedly already at $2 million and he's also lined up for six big projects until 2017. He has three movies awaiting release for this year alone, including "Fantastic Four," "Bleed For This," and "Get A Job," according to his IMDB page.

He most recently appeared alongside Shailene Woodley and Theo James in "Insurgent."

According to reports from the New York Times and CNN Money, Teller is not the only graduate with outstanding student loans.

New York Times reported that there are $1 trillion in student loan debt among American graduates. Meanwhile, CNN Money pointed out that 40 million are currently still under debt.
