When Liv Moore (Rose McIver) became a zombie, she broke up with her fiancé to protect him from getting infected through her. She also thought that she could never have any sort of love life ever again. All that changed, however, when she met Lowell (Bradley James).

Liv, Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (Rahul Kohli) and Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) investigated a skydiver who was impaled to a tree during a paid stunt by a sports company called Max Rager. It turned out that Holly, the victim, was Liv's college friend.
Holly was the first brain that Liv ate which she enjoyed the effects of. It was also the first brain of someone she actually knew.
Holly's case/brain also brought another surprise to the undead doctor. Her college friend's death helped her meet Lowell, a musician who was also a zombie!
Lowell was tagged as a suspect first but the police eventually figured out that it was someone else who drugged Holly just before she jumped off the plane.
The "Merlin" alum might just be staying for more episodes. His character seems to be smitten by Liv - the first zombie girl he's met since turning.
If they do get together, she doesn't have to worry about getting him infected - one of the perks of dating a (fellow) zombie according to this week's "iZombie" episode recaps.
On the other hand, Lowell's appearance should come with several questions for Liv. The biggest question of all would have to be who infected him as well as where he's getting his supply of brains from?
Knowing that Blaine is currently running a brain-for-zombies syndicate, Lowell could be connected to him or he could have gotten the virus from the drug-dealer-turned-brain-snatcher himself.
Meanwhile, Major got into some serious trouble from one of Blaine's goons despite all of Liv's precautions to stay away from him for safety reasons.
