"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is living up to the hype. As expected, the second installment of the Marvel's 2012 hit film is raking millions in box office.

According to a report by Variety, the superhero film has already earned $627 million worldwide in just 12 days. While this does not surprised most people, one thing about "Avengers 2" that shocked audiences is the storyline of Hawkeye who was played by Jeremy Renner.

Clint Barton, the master of bows and arrows, played pivotal role in the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" more than what he did in the first one. Aside from that, his storyline was also improved. Hawkeye turned out to be a family man and no one from Avengers knows about it. No one saw this arc coming.

In an interview with Zap2It, Renner said Hawkeye's background story shown in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is not exactly what they talked about before filming.

"We did speak together about some of his stories and secrets, and they just couldn't be implemented into the first one," Renner said of working with writer/director Joss Whedon on Clint's backstory.

"It just didn't have room for it. Even the backstory stuff and secrets revealed in this one weren't quite the ones we talked about. I still can't talk those because they can still happen, and they're just as cool -- even more so now."

Renner also explained that the major reveal about Hawkeye in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is something put in because writers and producers don't want to bore out audiences in just robot fights.

"I think we'd all get pretty bored if it was just a bunch of killing of robots and slinging of arrows and slinging of hammers. It comes back to Clint's story: Don't we all just want to go home and have a life and be happy? Captain America battles with that. If you don't know the plight of these flawed heroes, then what's the point of it all? I think the intimate moments and the character development is crucial to especially movies like this. What comes up next, it's '[Captain America: Civil War].' It's going to be arguing and trying to destroy each other. [ laughs]"

Aside from Renner, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" also stars Robert Downey Jr who reprises his role as Ironman, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, and Scarlett Johannson as Black Widow.
