The latest "Revenge" season 4 episode shed light on one of the biggest questions in the ABC TV series' remaining weeks.
The character the show made fans believe is already six feet below turned out to be alive and is in good company. Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe) did not kill herself inside the house of Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp).
There was a body when the fire was cleared but it was not hers. It is just a part of the conspiracy she, Margaux, and assassin White Gold (Courtney Love) staged. Ben Hunter (Brian Hallisay) tracked where Victoria was but unfortunately for him, he won't be able to return to Hamptons as he was killed by White Gold.
So Victoria is still alive. The question now is, will she come out triumphant in her battle with Emily? Showrunner Sunil Nayar did not specifically say it but her "Revenge" season 4 episode guide for the finale goes like this: two people will end up in graves when it is all done.
"Two Graves" is both a callback to the quote that kicked off the whole show ["before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves"], but also, there will be two people in graves by the end of the episode, Nayar said in an interview with Variety not too long after the latest "Revenge" season 4 episode aired.
When pressed to give clues who will they be, Nayar said people just have to wait and see. One thing she is assure of though is the final showdown between Emily and Victoria is going to be epic.
"An epic one. Totally epic, totally huge," Nayar said when asked for describe the final "Revenge" season 4 episode.
"And one of those that in many ways, it's what the audience has been pining for, for four years, and has been expecting, but in many ways, it's a completely unexpected way to do it. When we spoke to Emily [VanCamp] and Madeleine about this scene, one of the things they really did love about it was it is the scene you expect, but it's not in any way the scene you expect. The performance they both give is just tremendous. It will be epic and satisfying and a combination of these four years of inevitable forces rushing toward each other."
