'Revenge' Season 4 Finale: One Thing You Thought About Show's Farewell Is Wrong

May 20, 2015 10:05 PM EDT | By Rolly Gacelo

"Revenge" season 4 finale has aired almost two weeks ago but some are still not over with what transpired in the ABC drama's farewell episode.

Sure, the show brought closure to some loose ends like the rivalry between Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) and Victoria Grayson (Madeleine Stowe). It is also amazing Nolan Ross (Gabriel Mann) somehow got a rightful ending for his journey as the sidekick of Emily. However, the finale also left some question that up to now disturbs fans.

Victoria may have died in the "Revenge" season 4 finale but not entirely. Her spirit is still alive and it lies on the body of Emily. As what the episode made its viewers think, Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) donated her mother's heart to Emily Thorne who was shot by Victoria on the chest. This did not sit well for some fans.

According to Emily Thorne herself, that is not exactly what happened. Her character does not carry the heart of the murderous former Hamptons queen.

For showrunner Sunil Nayar, that twist in "Revenge" season 4 finale is something they put to create debate among fans and looks like they got the job done.

"What I'm hearing from people's reactions is that they don't know whether that's true or not," Nayar said in an interview with TV Line.

"For me, I think that's great. I think that the show lives in the world of nightmares and memories, so for the psychological nature of it, it's good regardless; you realize this is going to haunt Amanda for the rest of her days. It's a fun question for the audience to toy with: If it did happen, what does that mean? It's a bizarrely theoretical cliffhanger, which I hope inspires conversation. I like the debate of it."
