Khloé Kardashian Odom has officially been appointed as the new co-host for this season of X Factor, joining judges Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell, according to E News.

X Factor has also made other changes this season, including a backstage camera offering a behind-the-scenes look as the contestants prepare to come on-stage, as well as in the judges room.

Khloe, the "Keeping Up With the Kardashian's" reality T.V. star, has long been speculated as being one of the new hosts. No news on who will be the other host, joining Khloe up on stage as the show heads into the live shows. Rumors have been running rampant that it may be "Extra" T.V. host Mario Lopez.

The season kicked off Sept. 12, the first batch of episodes have been, as always, comprised of pre-taped auditions, giving producers leeway in the timing of hiring their hosts.

According to the National Enquirer, Khloe Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez are "already at each others throats."

"The show hasn't even started taping yet and the knives are out!" a network insider said.

"Mario thinks Khloe is an airhead, and she thinks he's a musclebound stuffed shirt.

"They're already vying for the spotlight, and the real competition is going to be which one will be the bigger pain in the butt for 'X Factor' brass when production starts."

Each one is set to get a fat $1 million paycheck, but hammering out their deals has been a nightmare, said the source.
