People Singling Out Connor's Sex Life Worries 'How To Get Away With Murder' Creator Peter Nowalk

Male to male sex scenes are not new in TV anymore. However, whenever there is one, it still causes quite a stir. Some say they are too much while others think they are not necessary.

In the case of Shonda Rhimes' TV series "How to Get Away with Murder," series creator Peter Nowalk is worried, too, but not about people's negative comments.

Jack Falahee became one of the breakout stars from "How to Get Away with Murder" earlier this year for his role as Connor Walsh, the gay law student who uses his charm to get the information he needs or the things his professor Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) wants from him. He does a great job on the role, acting-wise.

However, his sex scenes with other actors get more attention, and that is something Nowalk is worried about.

"I guess I have just been surprised that people have taken notice of it as something new," Nowalk said in an interview with TIME. "I don't want people marginalizing the character based on the fact that Connor is having sex with men. Viola Davis' character, Annalise, is just as sexual as Connor, but she doesn't get as much attention in the media. I just want people to pay attention to the character as much as they do to his sex life."

In the midst of the first season of "How to Get Away with Murder", Falahee defended his character's sex scenes.

"I think that the sex and those scenes are very plot driven," he said in an interview with Buzzfeed. "Connor is trying to achieve things by having sex and not only that, but I think he's a creature of sexual appetite. I think he enjoys having sex and I think Pete's done a great job of creating a real character. People have sex - lots of sex - and I think Connor's one of those people."

"How to Get Away with Murder" season is slated this fall and will pick up shortly from where it left off in the first season's finale. Aside from Falahee and Davis, "How to Get Away with Murder" also stars Alfred Enoch, Billy Brown, Aja Naomi King, Matt McGorry, Karla Souza, and Charlie Weber.
