Moving around inside the Google universe is made straightforward with the launch of a new tinkering hub called My Account. In it, users can define and reconfigure the behaviour of the numerous Google products and services to their likings.

The My Account core feature is to convince users that they are on the driver's seat and in control of everything while navigating through the Google ecosystem. Keeping one's privacy and giving a solid sense of security is the motivation behind the creation of the Google control panel.

The central setting instrument is also available to web users who unwilling to create an account with Google, highlighting the tech giant's willingness to provide individuals high level of incognito cloak while inside its system.

3 covers

The Account hub is divided into three compartments where users can make all sorts of customizations. In the 'Sign-in & security' sector, logging into devices, managing it and its applications are the top-most access doors. The main security elements are the ability to set and change passwords, establish two-set authentication for mobile device verification and give a blanket of security on apps usage.

In the 'Privacy' control area, users are given the option to open their own space for the outside world to see or easily hide them. With the right mix on this setting corner, users have the last say "whether Google shows your app reviews on Google Play, how you share YouTube videos and how you're served ads," Engadget said.

The last of the powerful tools called 'Account preferences' enable users to tweak Google Drive storage settings and wipe off accounts from the face of the cyber world. The same tool also permits user language changes and remote deletion of device contents.

More data protection measures

Google said that giving the Account settings forward is just the start of the flurry of improvements coming to online users. The end goal is to protect user information stored on Google servers, which according to TechCrunch is governed by a new privacy policy on data collection and usage and ad targeting. The major shift on this note is how users will take ultimate control of all these elements.
