Guillermo Del Toro's "Crimson Peak" will have Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain as two of its main characters. Will the they be the movie's mysterious villains?

According to What Culture, the Sharpe siblings or even Mia Wasikowska's character, Edith, won't be the main star of the film. Instead, Allerdale Hall, the Sharpe's gothic family mansion, will be the central interest of "Crimson Peak".

The trailers released for the horror film revolved around the houses' dark mysteries that both siblings seem to be aware of but can't actually control.

Del Toro previously revealed that the crew created the entire house, not wanting to use green screen or CGI effects.

The mansion was reportedly designed by Thomas E. Sanders who built a miniature of it "in order to present as accurate a final product as possible."

A sound designer, Randy Thom, was also hired to make the house "sound more human" as the film progresses.

"Some of the furniture was replicated in different sizes in order to give the impression that it grows and shrinks throughout the film," the report continued, adding that Del Toro planned on bringing home some of the film's props.

The helmer also prepared the background information of all the "Crimson Peak" stars, including Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain. He forbade them telling each other certain secrets to keep each character's mysteries within themselves.

"It makes the whole world of the film have a huge level of detail and you realize the story is a moment in time," Hiddleston revealed to Digital Trends. "It's a slice of these people's lives, and they're already fascinating. There's a longer 24-episode version where you could see where everyone is coming from and going, but this is the one moment where they intersect. It's brilliant."

"Crimson Peak" stars Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam and will be released in cinemas on October 16.
