Green Day New Album Release Date Expected Next Year! Billie Joe Armstrong And The Rest Of The Band Working On A Tour Too?

Billie Joe Armstrong already confirmed that Green Day is already working on a new album following three years of taking a break.

While he did not mention its release date, there are speculations that the American punk rock band will most likely launch their new album come next year.

Together with a new album the band is reportedly going go on tour as well. As a gratitude from getting a Hall of Fame induction, the trio formed in 1986, is said to prioritize working on their tracks for the new record.

According to the band's frontman there are already a "few songs" along the way prior to the said induction, and the Hall of Fame recognition only made them want to move further and better.

"There's definitely a great spirit going on," Armstrong told Billboard  of their new album. "We've always been pretty charged up. Before we found any of this out, I had already written a few songs and everybody was really excited by them. And then we heard about the Hall of Fame, and we were just blown away."

While Green Day band members are "blown away" with the Hall of Fame recognition, they want to make sure that the new album will be better than all the rest, better than their 2012 trilogy album "Uno," "Dos" and "Tres."

"Yeah, I mean, we're going to take our time," he explained. "We're not going to try and pull off some, like, victory lap over this because I definitely want the music to come from a real place and be inspired, not just because we got honored or anything like that, but because we're honoring music. We want to work on them, and we want to make a great album."

Lastly, he acknowledged the bond he formed with his band members, whom he was with way back in high school

"Well, even people that would be our contemporaries, a lot of these guys would be in their fifties already. But we started young. This is my high school band, and we just kept going. So there's been a lot of life within the time period that we've been around. We're really fortunate in that way."
