The Minions McDonald's toys are taking on a huge task -- can they save McDonald's from sales slump?

With more and more children playing digital games, the Mcdonald's Happy Meal toys are shifting its market from children to adults and young adults who just want to return to childhood.

One of the largest fast food chains in the Philippines has recently released collectible Minions McDonald's toys and the consumer reception for these Happy Meals is making waves on social media.

There are currently 10 different Minions McDonald's toys currently on sale in the Southeast Asian nation, and each goes with a purchase of a Happy Meal which is usually priced higher than the meal without the toy included.

These Minions McDonald's toys are dressed up in various fancy attires, and even got themselves with names. Get to know the Egyptian Hula Minion, the Minion Vampire, the Martial Arts Minion, the Groovy Stuart, the Minion Caveman and the Marching Minion Soldier. Also joining the group are the Guard Minion, Lava Shooting Kevin, Guitar Strumming Stuart and Chatting Bob.

The Minions were first seen as characters from Universal Pictures hit movie "Despicable Me." Together, these bring-colored cuties help out the villain in the movie, Gru.

But these Minions seemed to have taken the spotlight away from the main characters, making them earn a movie prequel that centers on the Minions. The movie titled "Minions" is set to be released this July.

Small as they are, the Minions have done multiple heroic deeds such as their daring mid-air rescue of the girls in the "Despicable Me" movie.

Now that they are hitting the shelves of the fast food chain, can these Minions McDonald's toys make another rescue attempt - this time on the slumping sales of the food chain?

McDonald's has recently faced challenges on a decrease in sales, reportedly prompting them to close hundreds of thousands of chains in Asia and the U.S.

In a separate report by Franchise Herald, the decision by the executives to close down some stores is because the closures are "outpacing the new fast-food restaurants in America," and that sales have been on a slump for the previous years.

The 2014 report of McDonald's indicated a decrease in revenues from 2013 to the previous year.
