Tom Holland Knew That He’ll Be The Next Spider-Man? Young British Actor Has Been Preparing For Over Two Years? Kevin Feige Revealed Why He Got The Role

Marvel revealed last week that among the many actors that auditioned for "Spider-Man" it was Tom Holland who landed the role of Peter Parker.

According to the studio, they were impressed by the British actor's performances in "The Impossible," "Wolf Hall," and his upcoming film "In the Heart of the Sea." Apart from that, he also passed the series of complex screen tests.

During an interview with Collider, Kevin Feige talked about the screen test between Robert Downey Jr. who stars as Iron Man and the 19-year-old actor.

The president of Marvel was asked if it was real dialogue or just written for the test. "It was a combination, it was mainly written for the screen test though. Which is what we usually do, so if people like you get your hands on them...," he said.

The producers also considered the chemistry between the two actors and if that's what the audience would like to see.

"That was part of it. When we'll see that, I don't know, but that was part of it," Kevin Feige said.

Tom Holland surprised many fans of the web-slinging superhero when he was announced as the new Spider-Man.

New reports revealed that the star of "Billy Elliot the Musical" allegedly knew all along that he will become the next Peter Parker. Two years ago, Tom Holland who won the "Best Male Newcomer" at the Empire Awards, was asked by a reporter if he's interested in playing a superhero in the future.

"I-I don't know, what kind of superhero would I want to play? Maybe...maybe Spider-Man in like ten years time, maybe!" the English actor said as reported by Movie Pilot. "Get ready for the re-boot of the re-boot!" the reported joked. "The re-boot of the re-boot? If they made one,*shrugs* I don't know!" Tom Holland replied.

It looks like ten years turned out to be three years as the young Brit will be making his debut as Spider-Man in "Captain America: Civil War" on May 6, 2016. The reboot, on the other hand, is scheduled for release on July 28, 2017.
