After Confirming Divorce With Wife Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck Shows No Sign Of Slowing Down! 'Batman V Superman' Star To Direct His Own 'Batman' Movie?

After years of speculations, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have finally announced that they're getting a divorce in a joint statement.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple said of their marriage according to Vanity Fair. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."

Sad as it may be, the 42-year-old Hollywood hunk who is about to star as the new Bruce Wayne in the upcoming Warner Bros. film "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" shows no sign of slowing down when it comes to his career.

While his casting was not well received by Batman purists, it seems like Warner Bros. has decided to put their full trust on him as the giant studio company reportedly asked him to direct an upcoming "Batman" standalone film titled "The Batman."

According to Latino-Review, Ben Affleck will not only star in the upcoming "Batman" movie, but he's also going to direct it.

Chris Terrio, the writer of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie is also reportedly going to join him to pen the script for "The Batman."

While Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce or launch the project in public, Latino Review claimed that it's slated for a November 2018 release.

If proven true, "The Batman" is going toe-to-toe with Marvel's "Captain Marvel" movie.

IB Times added that the standalone film will most likely be linked to the DC Cinematic Universe.

"It's safe to assume that the film's plot might be strongly linked to the overall DC Cinematic Universe, unless the makers decide to set the story in a different time period," the publication reported.

While Latino Review's news should be taken with a grain of salt, Henry Cavill's previous claims about his co-star Ben Affleck make the news more reliable.

"I'm sure he'll be fantastic above all else," "Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill, told Total Film.

"And as a filmmaker, he's got his own style, you know. He's not copying anyone else. And he's also sort of being tenacious in his career. He's had ups followed by downs and now he's very up again, and I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character. And it's something which I enjoy working with because jobs like this require strength of character, they require a dedication to the work and belief in oneself. And Ben has that, clearly."

Meanwhile, Ben Affleck has decided to shed light on how he's going to portray the new Batman in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"Batman is basically the American version of Hamlet," Affleck told EW. "We accept that he's played by actors with different interpretations."
