Death Of 'Hannibal' TV Series Cannot Be Averted Anymore? Season 4 Of Horror Show Looking More Blurry As Two Studios Pass

Still waiting for “Hannibal” season 4? Fans might need a miracle now after a recent revelation from series developer Bryan Fuller.

NBC has officially cancelled the horror TV series until after season 3. After the announcement, Fuller said hope is still alive to keep the uncanny friendship and cat and mouse chase between Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) alive.

Weeks past since “Hannibal” season 3 cancellation and more bad news welcomed fans. Bryan Fuller confirmed on his Twitter account that Amazon and Netflix, the streaming site most “Hannibal” fans vie for, passed on sheltering his show.

“@MikeBarbre I'M SORRY TO REPORT @amazon AND @netflix HAVE PASSED ON #HANNIBAL S4 BUT WE'RE STILL INVESTIGATING POSSIBILITIES” - Fuller told a fan who asked if there will be more after “Hannibal” season 3.

Before his Twitter revelation, fans remained hopeful of more episodes beyond “Hannibal” season 3, especially with the way Fuller addressed questions about show's renewal.

In an earlier interview with Entertainment Weekly, he said he already has plans for “Hannibal” season 4 if ever if it finds a new home.

“The way we end season 3, it wouldn’t shift smoothly into the The Silence of the Lambs story for the beginning of season 4. The plan for season 4 is actually much much more radical. There is a pocket in one of the novels of some really rich interesting character material that I’m inverting and twisting around.”

At the start of the month, fear of “Hannibal” dying permanently grew bigger as news reports revealed lead stars Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy have been released from their contracts. Deadline wrote:

“Ten days after NBC cancelled Hannibal, the series no longer has its cast under contract. I hear that starting today, stars Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen are free agents, and they are already fielding film and TV offers. Their options expired last night and were not extended by Hannibal producer Gaumont International Television.”

Will "Hannibal" ever find a new home for its fourth season?
