It’s a Wesen Life! ‘Grimm’ Season 5 To Have A ‘Little’ Reboot This Year Says David Giuntoli!

Jul 25, 2015 11:30 PM EDT | By Pam Amantiad

"Grimm" season 5 will be going back to its root, according to the NBC show's cast and producers!

David Giuntoli, who plays Portland detective Nick Burckhardt, has been teasing fans of an angrier Nick for next season.

Posters also point out the wronged Grimm's need to seek revenge after the royals beheaded his mother and basically turned his (ex) girlfriend into a traitor.

"I think Nick's out for revenge and he's trying to figure out who wronged him," the lead actor told Access Hollywood in a recent interview.

However, with almost all the royals gone (except for Captain Sean Renard), who will be directing his anger to? Fans will have to find out when "Grimm" season 5 returns to NBC on Oct. 30.

Avid viewers will also have to look forward to explanations of several concepts mentioned in past seasons - including those "d*amned keys".

"We still don't know what they do, but by God, we're going to explain it," showrunner David Greenwalt revealed during Comic Con earlier this month.

This season will also be a kind of reboot for the series, according to Guintoli.

"There's a reboot this year! A little bit of a reboot, get ready for THAT, America!" he told Access Hollywood, adding that the show will indeed be slowly getting rid of the royals subplot in order for Nick to focus on his about-to-be born son with his (former) enemy, Adalind Shade.

Although Claire Coffee, who plays Adalind, told Showbiz Junkies there will be "no romantic exploits" for her character this season, she will have an intimate connection with Nick through their baby.

"She's now having this other child with Nick and sticking around Portland, she's really finally is like, 'Wait, this is all I've got in the world and now I really have to make it work," she added.

Prepare to learn more about Wesens, as well as seeing a new baby in "Grimm" season 5 later this year.
