What’s The Perfect Chinese Salad Menu? Let These Shirtless Spartans Tell You

Jul 27, 2015 01:03 PM EDT | By Jon Lindley Agustin

Around 40 shirtless men wearing costumes inspired by the Spartans in the movie "300" marched around the business district in Beijing in a campaign to get people interested with the perfect Chinese salad menu.

In a report by The Huffington Post, the Spartan men carried containers of salad as a way to promote a local food delivery service called Sweetie Salad.

Half-naked as they were, the men attracted onlookers and tourists by taking some good shots of them and posting them on social media.

Sweetie Salad is probably among the few that offer Chinese salad menu selections without even travelling or commuting to a Chinese restaurant that serves the same food on the table.

Tech In Asia reports that this new start-up from Beijing provides salad delivery services by selling them exclusively online. The report also mentions that Sweetie Salad makes your favourite Chinese salad menu using original recipes.

"Each dish is categorized under one of three categories: 'beauty,' 'BMI,' or 'muscle,'" the report said. "Customers can choose from a wide range of salads, along with bread, dressing and a drink."

This business that creates Chinese salad menu selections also has catering options and weekly plan bundles, Tech In Asia said. A salad order is only from US$ 4 to $9.

Sweetie Salad reportedly has no storefront and its Chinese salad menu is created in a kitchen, to save up more by not renting a restaurant. Its founder said in the report that it spends more on quality ingredients.

The models who paraded the company's goods were mostly Russians, according to the public relations official as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald.

"We chose Spartans and invited foreign models who are physically fit simply because we wanted to encourage our customers to pursue the beauty of being healthy," the store said in a report by The Huffington Post on the Chinese salad menu offered by the company.

"A lot of people have asked me why their salad was not delivered by muscular Western models today," a deliveryman from the company said in the report.
