Sprint Corporation has announced changes in its senior leadership team in order to strengthen its management team, and support the next phase of the company's transition, according to a press release issued by Sprint.

The company will be hiring and promoting several people to positions in its management team.

Sprint has announced that they will be hiring Tarek Robbiati as chief financial officer, and Günther Ottendorfer as chief operating officer, technology, according to the company's press release.

In addition, the company will also promote John Saw, the current chief network officer, to the position of chief technology officer, and will be reporting to Ottendorfer.

Junichi Miyakawa, the current technical chief operating officer, will also become a senior technical adviser in the Office of the CEO and a liaison between Softbank and Sprint for the network strategy.

Robbiati, who most recently was a managing director and chief executive officer at Flexigroup Ltd., an Australian consumer finance company specializing in leasing, will be replacing Joseph Euteneuer, according to the press release.

Euteneuer will be leaving the company following an orderly transition of responsibilities.

The press release also states that Ottendorfer will be leading the company's newly created Technology Office. The new office will be responsible for all the network planning and deployment functions of the company.

The office will also be in charge of Information Technology.

Marcelo Claure, president and chief executive officer of Sprint, feels "very good about the team" that they have assembled "to pursue the great opportunities ahead," according to the press release.

"One of my goals when I first arrived as CEO was to strengthen our management team," he said.

He also added that he is excited about adding Robbiati and Ottendorfer to Sprint.

"Both of these individuals are world-class leaders with deep expertise and proven track records in exactly the areas that will be critical to accelerating our efforts to move Sprint forward," he said in the press release.

Bloomberg talked to several analysts about the changes in the leadership team that Sprint has done.

Roger Enter, an analyst at Recon Analytics, LLC, told Bloomberg that Claure has been "putting his stamp on the company."

"He is changing out the team. It's time for a new leadership to take over and come up with new ideas," he said.

An analyst added to Bloomberg that the changes don't seem to be over.

"It's a massive shake-up, there clearly seem to be more changes ahead," Jonathan Atkin, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets, told Bloomberg.
