Sharing Spotify playlists online is one of the greatest equalizers, and even U.S President Barack Obama listens songs streamed by the app. In fact, he shared it on his Twitter account.

The White House launched on Friday its official Spotify channel with a Spotify playlist President Obama personally curated, website Uproxx reported.

Named "The President's Summer Playlist," the Spotify Obama playlist features artists such as Beyonce, Mos Def, The Nappy Roots, Justin Timberlake and many others.

The Spotify Obama playlist has two collections namely, the daytime playlist and the night time playlist.

The Spotify Obama daytime playlist has 20 songs which are said to be energetic and lively, just perfect for the start of the day.

Among the songs on his daytime playlist are "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" by The Temptations, "So Much Trouble In The World" by Bob Marley & The Waiters, "Paradise" by Coldplay, "Another Star" by Stevie Wonder, and "Gimme Shelter" by The Rolling Stones.

Meanwhile, the Spotify Obama night time playlist is collectively relaxing, offering a mood that is perfect for a good night's sleep.

"The President's Summer Playlist: Night" has the songs "Superpower"  by Beyonce Frank Ocean, "My Favorite Things" by John Coltrane, "Moondance" by Van Morrison, "The Best Is Yet To Come" by Frank Sinatra, "I've Got Dreams To Remember" by Otis Redding, and so much more.

Spotify 'Freemium' not to stay?

Universal Music Group's chief executive officer Lucian Grainge recently said in an interview that the ad-supported 'Freemium' access will have changes in the future.

"As I've said before, while ad-supported on-demand music definitely has a place, whether that's a part of discovery or trials of new products and offerings, freemium alone is inadequate to support our critical ecosystem of artists, labels and the platforms themselves," Grainge said in the report on Digital Music News.

He further noted, "What that means is that we must seek the proper balance between ad-supported and paid subscription. It's not one or the other."
