Edible Arrangements will donate $125,000 to VetFran, the International Franchise Association's (IFA) program to help military veterans transition back to civilian life. The fruit and chocolate-dip gift basket maker will also cut the cost of franchising by $10,000 for veterans.

CEO Tariq Farid wanted to express his appreciation for veterans, and recognize the energy and passion that they bring to the franchise. He desires to extend the opportunity for veterans to achieve the "American Dream." Farid hopes that up to 1,000 veterans can gain job opportunities through this initiative.

The company began when Farid was a teenager, and grew to over 1,100 locations worldwide. Edible Arrangements has stated that veterans have been very successful in running franchise locations.

By arranging fruit into packages made to look like flower bouquets, along with chocolate-dipped fruits, the company provides gift ideas for holidays and special occasions.
