Aug 27, 2015 01:42 PM EDT | By Jean-Claude Arnobit

Kraft Heinz Foods Company is recalling more than two million pounds of turkey bacon products due to possible adulteration because the products may spoil before its "Best When Used By" date, according to a press release issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Services (FSIS).

The turkey bacon being recalled were produced between May 31, 2015, and Aug. 6, 2015.

The problem with the product was discovered by Kraft Heinz when they were investigating a consumer complaint related to spoilage, according to the press release.

FSIS though has not received any confirmed reports of any negative reaction related to the consumption of the product.

NBC News added that the FSIS rated the recall as a Class II, which means that consumers who consumed the product may have an adverse reaction to it.

However, the negative health effect on consumers who have already consumed the product is considered low risk.

The FSIS added in the press release that anyone who has concerns about injuries or illnesses should contact a healthcare provider. This is to ensure the safety of the consumers.

The products being recalled are the 56 oz. Oscar Mayer "Select Uncured Turkey Bacon," the 36 oz. Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon "Smoked Cured Turkey Chopped and Formed," and the 46 oz. Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon "Smoked Cured Turkey Chopped and Formed."

FSIS also added in the press release that the products being recalled bear the establishment number P-9070, that is located in the USDA mark of inspection.

The turkey bacon products also have the line RS19.

The products that bear these markings are exported nationwide, according to the press release.

The area where the products are exported also includes the Bahamas and St. Martin.

FSIS also mentioned in the press release that they do a routine effectiveness check when a company does a recall to ensure that the company doing the recall has notified their customers of the recall.

The FSIS also ensures that the necessary steps are taken to make sure that the consumers will no longer have access to the recalled products.
