[PHOTO] Moto 360 2 Leaks: ‘Flat Tire’ Look Still Here? Smartwatch’s Design, Two Sizes Previewed

The latest round of Moto 360 2 leaks gives weight to earlier reports that suggested Motorola's next-gen Android Wear smartwatch will come in two sizes. Design changes were also previewed although it may disappoint some.

The image above, courtesy of Pocket-lint, is from Google+ user HelloMotoUK and reportedly shows the smaller of the two Moto 360 2 variants sized up against the original Motorola smartwatch.

"HelloMotoHK has called the smaller watch 'Moto360S' - as the rumored watches are thought to be called the Moto 360 Small and Moto 360 Large," the website said.

Another 360 2 leak from Chinese social media website Weibo allegedly shows the Moto 360L.

Last week, Franchise Herald reported that Motorola smartwatches, known only as the "360S" and "360L" passed through Brazilian telecoms agency Anatel.

According to the listing, both devices have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE connectivity. They are distinguished by their batteries with the former having a 270mAh and the latter with a 375mAh battery.

Earlier this week, Engadget picked up on Moto 360 2 leaks spotted in the Chicago area and posted on Google+ and Reddit showing its design. The upcoming Android Wear-powered smartwatch was reportedly worn in public by Motorola employees.

"The wake button is no longer at three o'clock (likely to reduce accidental on-screen time), and the conspicuous lugs give it more of a traditional watch design," the website noted.

But it looks like the Moto 360 2 is inheriting the "flat tire" look of the original which means it may not have a truly circular display.

"Even [if] it doesn't though, it's evident that Motorola's next wristwear will be more than just a minor tweak," Engadget said.

Moto 360 2 leaks may have prevented Motorola from keeping its next-gen Android Wear smartwatch a secret, but it still hasn't been confirmed when the device will be launched. With Berlin's IFA 2015 around the corner, reports suggest an unveiling at the event could be the "most likely scenario."
