Tyra Banks Makes Shopping Straight from Pinterest, Instagram Easier with New Website 'The Hunt'

Tyra Banks, supermodel, entrepreneur and host of the popular reality competition "America's Next Top Model" has banked on yet another business venture. If you find something you like on Instagram or Pinterest, you can now easily click to see who sells it. The Hunt, is the first community-driven online shopping experience that makes social media photos shoppable.

The investment comes through Tyra's recently formed Fierce Capital, LLC, the investment arm of The Tyra Banks Company, for which she is Chairman and CEO, according to a company statement.

The Hunt marks the first fashion investment for Tyra through Fierce Capital, LLC, which aims to identify, develop and invest in early-stage startup companies, including firms that are female-led or female-focused. Tyra views The Hunt not just as an investment but also as a real opportunity to help women seek out style inspiration.

"I created Fierce Capital LLC because supporting female owned, led and targeted businesses is extremely important to me. We are excited about The Hunt, our first fashion investment, because it truly sucks to discover a great style item but not be able to find and buy it. The Hunt solves that fashion dilemma in a fun and innovative way," Tyra told WWD.

Tyra believes it is the future of online shopping.

"What I love about The Hunt is that women help other women find their perfect outfit [head-to-toe]. I am excited to be part of this new approach to collective retail and styling," she explained.

The website went live in January and has already earned some celebrity fans. Others to have invested include tech-savvy Ashton Kutcher and Madonna's manager Guy Oseary.

TheHunt was created by Tim Weingarten and Simon Peck, who have been careful about who invested. They were keen to attract people with relevant experience, which is why Tyra appealed.
