The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced that Kenosha Beef International Ltd is recalling close to 90,000 pounds of pork sausage patty products due to a possible contamination from foreign materials, according to a press release issued by the FSIS.

The products being recalled were produced on May 13, 2015.

FSIS added in the press release that the problem was discovered when consumers who purchased the contaminated products were complaining to Kenosha.

They were complaining that small metal fragments were being found in the products.

FSIS said that it is still unknown where the foreign material found in the food products came from, according to the press release, and WXYZ  added that Kenosha is still investigating the source of the contaminants..

FSIS added in the press release that the products being recalled are the 24-oz cartons of "Johnsonville Grillers CHEDDAR CHEESE & BACON FLAVOR" and the "13.5-lb cases of "Johnsonville Grillers CHEDDAR CHEESE & BACON FLAVOR."

The 13.5-lb cases contain nine cartons of the 24-oz product.

FSIS also added in the press release that the products being recalled bear the establishment number "EST.425B" and a "BEST FLAVOR BY" date of "12/29/15" on the end flap of the package.

The cases being recalled also bear the establishment number "EST.425B" inside the USDA mark of inspection on the generic label.

The FSIS classified the recall as Class I, which means it poses a serious health hazard to those who may have consumed the foreign material, according to the press release.

There is a probability that the foreign material could cause serious adverse health consequences or even death.

FSIS and Kenosha said that they haven't received any reports yet of oral injury or adverse reaction to illness due to the consumption of the products, according to the press release.

Anyone who has any concern of injury or illness should consult a healthcare provider.

WXYZ reported that customers who have purchased the contaminated products should return it to the place where they purchased them.
