Del Taco Expands With New Locations in West and South

Del Taco is expanding its restaurant chain west and east restaurantnews.com reported.

"We welcome our new partners to the Del Taco family," Del Taco CEO Paul Murphy told Restaurant News. "Clearly, they recognize the opportunity Del Taco provides to those who want to combine their professional strengths and experience with a brand that can deliver."

According to Restaurant News, seven new groups have signed on to put 39 new Del Taco locations in central California, Colorado, Georgia, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Texas as the company prepares to grow in places other than its home base of southern California with new franchisees.

The company has new areas available for building multi-units, and openings for those interested in franchise opportunities Restaurants News reported. These include 60 multi-units in Seattle, Wash., and Portland, Ore., 65 in Houston and San Antonio, Texas, 22 in southern Georgia including Macon, Augusta, and Savannah, 44 in Tampa and St. Petersburg, Fla., and nine in Charleston, S.C.    

According to Restaurant News, the new locations and corporate restaurants will be built over the next 10 years. The company already has its first southern United States in Alabama Restaurant News reported, which opened this year. Oklahoma is next up on the list to be built before the end of the year. 

Del Taco has over 550 restaurants in 18 states, and is one of the country's biggest chains for quick-serve Mexican food like tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos. Hamburgers, fries, and shakes are also sold at the fast-food joint. And for breakfast, breakfast burritos are on the menu.

All food dishes are made with cheddar cheese from 40-pound blocks, hand-made pico de gallo salsa, slow-cooked beans from scratch, and chicken grilled in all restaurant locations Restaurant News reported.
