'Boruto: Naruto The Movie' U.S. Release Date Delayed! Lionsgate Moving Forward With Live-Action Film

While "Boruto: Naruto The Movie" definitely earned great success in Japan, the release date of the highly anticipated anime film in the U.S. if reportedly going to be delayed for a few days.

According to Realty Today the original U.S. release date of Oct. 7 has been moved to Oct. 10.

Additionally, "Boruto: Naruto The Movie" will be launched in select theaters in California, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Pennsylvania, Massachusets, Arizona and Florida.

The story will evolve around Naruto's son, Boruto who is training to pass the Chunin Exams as he strives to surpass his father's greatest feat.

Training under Sasuke, Boruto will bare witness to his father's disappearance during his exam.

And while U.S. fans await the arrival of "Boruto: Naruto The Movie," a live-action film based on Masashi Kishimoto's manga is reportedly in the works under Lionsgate, Screen Rant reported.

As "Boruto: Naruto The Movie" U.S. release date draws near, Nerdist claimed that Lionsgate has already found a director to helm the planned "Naruto" live-action movie.

The publication claimed that Michael Gracey, who is up to helm films like "The Greatest Showman on Earth," "Rocketman" and "Daughter of Smoke and Bone," is reportedly going to direct the live-action "Naruto" movie.

Meanwhile, manga creator Masashi Kishimoto announced that he has retired the third best-selling manga series of all time as he plans to work on a new sci-fi series.

As reported by Anime News Network based on Kishimoto's interview with Kadokawa's Entermix entertainment magazine, Kishimoto has announced his new project.

"I've already decided what I'm going to write about in my next work," Kishimoto revealed. "I'm thinking of writing a science-fiction work. I've already finalized the character designs."

"Boruto: Naruto The Movie" U.S. release date is set on Oct. 10, 2015.
