[PHOTO] Jeremy Clarkson To Feature ‘Great Hypercar Showdown’ In Amazon Prime Show?

Jeremy Clarkson's new Amazon Prime show has begun filming and from the looks of it, fans may finally get to see the McLaren P1, the Porsche 918 Spyder and the Ferrari LaFerrari square off.

The 55-year-old presenter teased their upcoming motoring show when he posted a photo of him, along with co-presenters Richard Hammond and James May, with "a skeleton crew" on Twitter.

Though no details were given, fans and pundits pointed out that the former "Top Gear" presenters are filming in the Algarve International Circuit in Portimao, Portugal, the Telegraph reported.

Apart from the location, the photo's cars also hint what to expect when the Amazon Prime show premieres.

"The trio are pictured standing in front of the 'Holy Trinity' of supercars, a Ferrari LaFerrari, a McLaren P1 and a Porsche 918 Spyder," the website said.

"Top Gear" fans may recall that before they left the BBC show, Clarkson Hammond and May were trying to get all three hypercars in their test track. All three were impressed by the cars but each had their own bets.

From Jeremy Clarkson's tweet, The Verge thinks the "Great Hypercar Showdown" could finally happen in the Amazon Prime show.

"That never happened because the hosts wound up leaving, and partly because the different carmakers kept changing their demands," the website said.

Also seen in the photo are engineers from the carmakers alongside the show's staff, as The Verge pointed out. In any case, it looks like the cars were put through their paces.

Clarkson's tease follows earlier tweets from last month assuring fans that they are "extremely busy putting [their] new show together." Previous reports said Amazon earmarked £160 million for the yet-to-be-named motoring show where they'll "do new stuff," per Hammond.

Reports also suggested the Amazon Prime show may be called "Gear Knobs" but Jeremy Clarkson went on record to deny the rumors last week. It is expected to air sometime next year.
