Samsung Galaxy 4S Update: Android Introduces New Software For Devices

Android users will soon be able to use Android software on Samsung Galaxy 4S phones.

"We expect Android 4.3 for GT-I9500 #GalaxyS4 next week and for the #GalaxyS3 in November," Samsung said on its twitter page. "#GalaxyNote2 December cause of new spen features."

The new digs could become available this month after Samsung announced its plans at its Mobile Unpacked Episode 2 event last month.

While there aren't a lot of improvements visually, users will be able to access the applications on the Android phone much quicker Sam Mobile reported.

The company is launching the software in parts, and is expected to be made public shortly. There is a chance users who have phones with mobile carriers will have to wait a little longer for the new update to become available.

When it does become available, Samsung Galaxy 4S users can download the new software titled "Android 4.3 Jelly Bean" by connecting their phones to their computer and use Samsung KIES, or Samsung's "over the air" service.

Users can also use the company's Firmware Section to add the new software if the KIES or Samsung  OTA does not work.

The update has done well in ratings so far recording a 29,000 to 30,000 benchmark score compared to Android's 4.2.2 software score of 25,000 to 26,000.

Users can expect a new keyboard for the device, along with a full screen browser, and new tab interface among others.

There is also a new reading mode which makes it easier for users to read information in particular applications.

The update also comes equipped with a new computer programs so users can take photos with the Galaxy's camera.

The contacts application, flashlight widget, and dialog boxes have also been adjusted Samsung reported.

Users can check Samsung's website to see when the update is available for their devices depending on their carrier.
