The upcoming Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to arrive on Oct. 19.

Xiaomi's next flagship device has been sitting in the rumor mill for quite some time now and its release date is still unknown. However, the latest rumors suggest that Xiaomi fans could finally see the long overdue Xiaomi Mi5.

GSM Arena speculates that the Xioami Mi5 will be unveiled on Oct. 19 as the phone's manufacturer has posted a teaser on Weibo stating "'Next Generation."

It was first rumored that the Xiaomi MI5 release date could be on November or early 2016 due to Snapdragon 820's production, but reportedly the chipset won't be ready until next year as it will be handed to developers by January. So there's a chance that a different chipset could have been used.

Meanwhile in a different report there could be two versions of the upcoming flagship. The Helio X20 powered Xiaomi Mi5 might be unveiled on Xiaomi's upcoming event, and the Snapdragon 820 version won't be coming until November, Phone Arena reported.

If the rumors are to believed, the Xiaomi Mi5 Helio X20 version will be the first mobile device t feature 'world's first mobile processor with tri-cluster CPU architecture' and first deca-core SoC for smartphones and tablets, according to NDTV.

While the Snapdragon 820 version will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon Sense ID fingerprint scanner technology or also known as the "ultrasonic fingerprint recognition" which has been showcased at MWC 2015, "which allow devices to create a 3D-mapped fingerprint rather than the flat images captured by commonly used capacitive sensors," NDTV added.

As for its other specs, Xiaomi Mi5 will pack a 5.2-inch screen display (1920 x 1080) with Gorilla Glass 4 for its screen protection; a 16MP rear snapper and an 8MP front camera; and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with Xiaomi MIUI 7.0 on top of it, Techno Buffalo added.
