NYCC 2015 attendees got a huge surprise when they saw the premiere of "Marvel's Jessica Jones" pilot. The panel attended by the cast also announced who Carrie Ann Moss' mystery character is.

Variety reported that the premiere was screened after the "Jessica Jones" cast took the stage. Much to the delight of fans, the entire episode - not just a bunch of clips - was shown.

Judging from the pilot episode, many noted how "Jessica Jones" has already taken the dark and gritty tone set by "Daredevil" a notch higher.

"Watching it, it feels like the only restrictions Marvel seems to have placed were the 'F' word couldn't be said like in the comics, Jessica curses a bunch; she just doesn't say that word) and there couldn't be any nudity," IGN said.

Still, there are "very physical, blunt" sex scenes in the Netflix series, according to the website.

Mashable praised star Krysten Ritter's performance, saying she "shines in the series' pilot as a scrappy, super-human private investigator with a hint of sass."

Luke Cage aka Power Man (Mike Colter) is also in the pilot, according to the website. Reportedly, villain Zebediah Kilgrave (David Tennant) gives the episode a horror movie vibe despite a limited appearance.

Before showing the "Marvel's Jessica Jones" premiere, Variety said Loeb revealed Carrie Ann Moss character as Jeryn Hogarth.

Comic book fans may recognize Hogarth as a lawyer and businessman who became Wendell Rand's attorney. Rand is father to Danny Rand aka Iron Fist.

Per Variety, Moss' gender-swapped character gives her ties to the fourth Marvel/Netflix collaboration "Iron Fist."

The surprise screening at NYCC 2015 followed a string of teasers promoting the upcoming Netflix series.

"With great wit and characters, this series could draw a big fanbase. Those in attendance Saturday certainly loved it, and left the screening saying as much," Mashable said.

No need to wait that long to watch all 13 episodes though. "Marvel's Jessica Jones" will premiere on Netflix on Nov. 20.
