NBA Trade Rumor: Superstar Lakers Previously Targeted Available Again?

Nov 20, 2015 10:21 AM EST | By Rolly Gacelo

NBA trade rumors months before the 2015-16 season started gave Los Angeles Lakers a false hope.

Reports said the Purple and Gold were interested in signing All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins from Sacramento Kings.

Apparently, the NBA trade rumor remained as . . . . rumor and the Lakers right now sucks.

DeMarcus Cousins is reportedly on the trading block again and this stems from his never-ending feud with coach George Karl.

"Then, everything was calm for a bit, cooler heads prevailed and-HAHAHA. Just kidding," Bleacher Report.

"The Kings put up public fronts, then started 1-7 and all hell started breaking loose again. Cousins reportedly cussed Karl out in front of his teammates, leading Kings brass to have another meeting about firing their head coach before ultimately sitting on their hands."

Just last week, Basketball Insiders revealed Kings' locker room went was filled with tension again after yet another defeat. Again, Cousins played a huge part. This could be the last straw to end Kings-Cousins partnership according to the site.

"Unfortunately, the marriage in Sacramento seems more than doomed. It was a shotgun wedding at best last year when Karl was hired mid-season. The fit at the time was suspect and given all the things that played out this summer, with Karl allegedly reaching out to other teams to try and get Cousins traded, there is no question that the trust between player and coach is non-existent. It's also clear that it's likely not going to be repaired as some in the Kings front office had hoped."

However, sources from the league does not believe Kings will let go of Cousins. Instead, it is more likely they will fire George Karl.

Karl arrived at the Sleep Train Arena as if he is Khaleesi's dragons who will rescue Westeros. Cousins is Daenerys who Karl will help realize his power. That is definitely not the case after less than one season for the 2013 Coach of the Year.

What do you think of this NBA trade rumor?
